A few weeks ago the folks at Pure sent me a box full of Pure Bars to review.
As a matter of full disclosure: they were free. And they sent me a cute little bag, too, which I am going to use as a lunch sack.
I must say, out of all the bars I’ve reviewed, these were my absolute favorite. And I think it’s pretty close to fair to say that the bars – Apple Cinnamon and Chocolate Brownie – were a house favorite because they disappeared in no time.
I think I liked the bars most because they are not only vegan, certified organic and made out of ingredients you’ve heard of but also because they really did fill that pocket in my tummy I get when I have the need for something sweet. They are quite fulfilling, actually. And the best part is that there isn’t any sugar or preservatives.
The consistency of the bars were, well, moist. The chocolate brownie flavor really reminded me of an oven baked brownie. Except that the ingredient list is much different than that of a brownie. From Pure’s website:
Organic Dates, Organic Walnuts, Organic Agave Nectar, Organic Almonds, Organic Cashews, Organic Brown Rice Protein, Organic Cocoa and that’s all! (unless you count the 14 essential vitamins and minerals, important antioxidants from cocoa, and healthy Omega 3 fats in every bite). Nothing cooked. Nothing processed. Completely Pure.

Since I work in marketing I’m always thinking about things like customer service and branding and first impressions and, well, marketing person-type stuff. The fact that a sweet woman from Pure wrote me a hand written card and included it in the package was spectacular. I kept the little card and will remember the personal touch.

Unfortunately Pure bars are not available in the Fox Cities. According to Pure’s website, they are not even available in Wisconsin, which makes me sad. Perhaps Pure will bring their goodies to a store near me soon. Pretty please!

I loved the apple cinnamon ones too.
Not even available at whole foods?!?! hmmm… bummer.
